The Military Court has begun interrogating a Lebanese man accused of high treason and collaborating with Israeli intelligence agents in several foreign countries.
Judge Imad al-Zein also questioned A.Y., a retired Lebanese public servant identified only by his initials, on allegations that he provided information about the military posts of the Syrian and Lebanese armies while the Syrian army was still in Lebanon.
The information he passed is also alleged to have included data related to Hezbollah officials, including the addresses of late chief Abbas Moussawi, former Secretary-General Sobhi Tufayli and Sheikh Mohammad Yazbik.
A.Y. also possessed a forged Palestinian passport which he allegedly used to enter Palestine and meet Israeli officers. He was also accused of providing information about public and private institutions which were bombed during the 2006 war.
A.Y. is thought to have collaborated with the Israeli Intelligence for 22 years.
