National News Agency (NNA) reported that a prisoner serving a drug abuse sentence led riots inside Nabatieh Prison on Saturday.
Several prisoners resorted to setting fire to mattresses and belongings inside prison cells, which called for the intervention of Civil Defense teams in Nabatieh in order to put out the fire.
ISF officers managed to control the situation and restore calm to the Prison.
The riots had begun on Friday afternoon in demand for quality improvement of food inside the prison and abolition of any ban on foods brought to prisoners by their families
