Families of youths arrested by police during an Aug. 29 anti-government protest in Downtown Beirut demonstrated for a second consecutive day Tuesday to call for their release.

The families blocked the road outside the Interior Ministry in the Sanayeh area of Beirut, vowing not to budge until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

A lawyer at the demonstration told television reporters that a court Tuesday refused to release four of the detainees, including three minors. She said she will submit a new request Wednesday for the release all 19 detained protesters.

The detained protesters are accused of rioting and causing damage to public and private property, according to their families.
