Security forces seized from two inmates in Roumieh prison several illegal items, including a spy pen, the state-run National News Agency reported on Friday.
NNA said police found two SIM cards with Palestinian prisoner Safi Hassan Mattar, 24, and seized a spy pen camera and a USB from a 42-year-old Lebanese inmate identified as Bilal Mohammed Ali Qaddouh.
The seized items are now being analyzed to see their data content, it said.
Security forces launched in November a wide inspection campaign in Roumieh to confiscate any prohibited items in the possession of inmates including cellphones, sharp objects and drugs.
Reports had said that the campaign will later include the remaining prisons across Lebanon.
Roumieh, the oldest and largest of Lebanon's overcrowded prisons, has witnessed sporadic prison breaks in recent years and escalating riots over the past months as inmates living in poor conditions demand better treatment.
