A businessman was released by his kidnappers Sunday night, five days after he was snatched on a road in Tyre, the state-run National News Agency reported.
However, it was not immediately known if any ransom was paid to the kidnappers for the release of businessman Najib Youssef.
Youssef, who was handed over to the Internal Security Forces’ Information Branch in Beirut, later drove to his family’s residence in Tyre, the NNA said. The kidnappers had contacted Youssef’s family and demanded a $3 million ransom for his release.
