Security forces thwarted an escape attempt at the Roumieh prison in Lebanon, the National News Agency reported.
According to the report, a tunnel that had been dug by inmates was discovered by prison guards on Tuesday.
Several riots have broken out recently at the prison in the Metn region, with inmates protesting their incarceration conditions.
