Government Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr charged ten Lebanese people on Friday for being members of an armed organization and the Al-Nusra Front, the National News Agency reported.

Among those who were charged was Shadi Mawlawi. However, he told NOW later in the day that he will not turn himself in.

The judge also accused them of planning to “conduct terrorist acts in Lebanon and smuggle weapons and explosives between Lebanon and Syria,” the report added.

A Tripoli Salafist Sheikh, however, denied to NOW the presence of Al-Nusra Front members in the norther city.

Last year, Mawlawi was arrested and accused of being a member of a terrorist group. However, he was released within ten days of his arrest, which sparked two days of violence between Sunnis, mostly from the Bab al-Tabbaneh area in Tripoli, and Alawites from Jabal Mohsen area.
