An overnight explosion blew the roof off a house that shelters two Syrian families in north Lebanon, the National News Agency said late Monday.
The state-run agency said part of the roof fell on the families, comprised of two mothers and eight children, but added that not one had been hurt in the incident.
It said the midnight blast took place in Sheikh Lar, a village near the town of Aidamoun in the northern province of Akkar.
Police and the Lebanese Army quickly arrived at the scene and launched a probe to determine whether a hand grenade or a dynamite stick had caused the explosion, the NNA said.
The state-run news agency said the abandoned home is owned by Kamal Said, who gave up his house to help out the Syrian families who have fled their country as a result of the war between regime forces and rebels.
