Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri spoke out for the right of mothers to grant nationality to their children.
“I reiterate my commitment to afford Lebanese mothers their full rights including their right to grant nationality to their children,” Hariri wrote on the social networking site Twitter on the occasion of Mother’s Day on Thursday.
He also said that women should be accorded “full protection, in particular through the passing of an anti-domestic violence law as soon as possible.”
The Future Movement leader added a note of support for “Syria’s mothers” who are “sacrificing for the freedom and dignity of all Syrians and their right to live in dignity and democracy,” as well as mothers of Palestine waiting for their sons and daughters in Israeli prisons.”
