BEIRUT: Israeli soldiers have kidnapped two shepherds from the Lebanese border town of Shebaa, the Lebanese Army says.
A statement issued Tuesday from the Lebanese Army said an Israeli patrol kidnapped Lebanese shepherds Youssef Zahra and Youssef al-Raheel from Lebanese territory near Naqqar Lake in the Shebaa area.
It said Army units went on alert and took the “appropriate defensive measures.”
The military has also contacted the U.N. peacekeeping command to help secure the release of the Raheel and Zahra.
