BEIRUT: The Health Ministry and the Iraqi Red Crescent agreed Tuesday to provide medical services to Syrian refugees with chronic diseases.
The agreement was signed by caretaker Health Minister Ali Hasan Khalil and the Iraqi Red Crescent head Yassine Ammouri.
According to the agreement, the IRC will also boost the capabilities of the health centers which provide services to the refugees.
Khalil announced the plan, saying: “The Lebanese Health Ministry has not received any aid from any organization, nor has the government from international donor countries,” save for an agreement with UNICEF for an immunization campaign.
“There are dozens and maybe hundreds of refugees who need medicine for incurable diseases and the organizations and donors haven’t provided anything,” Khalil added.
