BEIRUT: Residents of the town of Arsal in the northern Bekaa Valley blocked a road Wednesday to demand the release of Krikor Noshiyan, who was kidnapped earlier this month.
Residents closed the road between Arsal and the Syrian town of Tlaita to protest the kidnapping.
Noshiyan, who is from Zahle but has been working in Arsal for years, was kidnapped while fixing stone-cutting equipment and is believed to have been taken to the nearby Syrian town.
Noshiyan’s family and community figures in Zahle have made repeated calls for his release.
