BEIRUT: A Lebanese businessman with suspected links to drugs trafficking was kidnapped Friday night in Taanayel, in the east of the country, security sources told The Daily Star Saturday.
Fathallah al-Hayyali, 51, who owns a hotel in Jounieh and manages other businesses, was snatched near Hamra Plaza in Taanayel.
His vehicle, a black Mercedes, was found on the Riyaaq-Deir Znoun road.
Sources close to the investigation said Hayyali was also suspected of being involved in drugs trafficking.
No ransom has yet been requested.
