BEIRUT: A hostage swap between rival clans was carried out in the border village of Labweh Friday, with the mediation of Army Intelligence and religious figures, according the National News Agency.
The swap was arranged after members of the Jaafar clan kidnapped two men from the border town of Wadi Khaled in Labweh.
The kidnapped men were identified as Khaled Malek and Ali Smeiran.
Later, in retaliation, several residents of Wadi Khaled kidnapped Hussein Jaafar and demanded the two hostages be released in exchange.
The swap took place at the residence of Yassin Ali Jaafar in Labweh, with the Army and religious figures from both towns mediating between the two parties.
