A hand grenade was tossed overnight into a mosque inside a Palestinian refugee camp in Tyre, south Lebanon.
Security sources said no one was hurt as a result of the blast in the Qassmieh refugee camp, north of the port city of Tyre.
The explosion damaged the main entrance gate to the mosque and shattered some windows.
The mosque’s Imam, Sheikh Diab Mehdawi, said the blast was aimed at stirring sectarian strife in the camp, “particularly in light of attempts to move discord from one area to another.”
