Army units and security agency reinforcements were deployed on Saturday to Tyre’s governmental Serail after a mutiny took place in the city’s prison.

The National News Agency said that the warden of the Tyre Prison met with security forces and the city’s mayor to look into the incident.

Future TV had reported that a number of detainees in the southern city’s jail started fires inside the facility. The NNA later elaborated that this move was in protest against the prison’s administration returning one of the inmates to the jail.

The situation in the prison was returned to normal after the detainees were promised that their demands would be met.
