BEIRUT: The top administrator of the tribunal prosecuting the alleged killers of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri met top government officials in a visit likely intended to press Lebanon to pay its annual contribution to the court.
Daryl Mundis, who was appointed registrar of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon last month, met caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam to discuss the work of the court, according to the National News Agency.
Lebanon is months overdue in paying its 49 percent contribution to the STL’s budget, mandated by the U.N. Security Council. The country owes some $39 million for 2013.
