BEIRUT: A Syrian man who was kidnapped earlier this month was freed Thursday after the Army apprehended three in connection with his abduction.
Ahmad Azeb was abducted in the Bekaa Valley village of Taanayel on Sept. 9.
The Army said earlier it had apprehended three people over their alleged role in Azeb’s kidnapping.
“After an investigation into the abduction of Syrian Ahmad Azeb ... an Army intelligence patrol was able to arrest three people [Wednesday] in Ammiq, in the Bekaa in connection with the kidnapping,” the military said.
It added that the men were identified as two Syrians and one Lebanese. Hours later, Azeb was released in Majdaloun, Baalbek, a security source told The Daily Star.
