BEIRUT: Military Investigative Judge Imad Zein issued arrest warrants Tuesday for two Syrians involved in the July ambush that targeted a Hezbollah convoy on the highway linking the Bekaa Valley to Syria, judicial sources told The Daily Star.
The judge completed interrogations with the detainees, Firas Zaitoun and Anas Majzoub, who are charged with belonging to an armed terrorist group, preparing explosives and attacking a vehicle.
Last week, the judge issued two arrest warrants, one of them in absentia, for two Syrians implicated in the Masnaa attack and affiliated with the Free Syrian Army.
One Hezbollah member was killed and three others wounded in the July 16 ambush that targeted a convoy on the highway between Majdal Anjar and the Masnaa border crossing.
