Activists from the National Campaign to Abolish the Death Penalty staged on Friday a protest in Adlieh to voice their opposition of capital punishment.The National News Agency reported that the protest started in Adlieh for the occasion of the International Day for the Abolition of Death Penalty, after which the protesters entered the Justice Palace to hold a conference.Capital punishment is legal in Lebanon, as it is in all Arab countries. Lebanon continues to execute criminals, most recently in 2004. Capital crimes in Lebanon include murder, espionage, treason, terrorism, and collaborating with Israeli forces.
