Report Launching by Admin Admin: BEIRUT: A Lebanese pharmacist who was kidnapped in east Lebanon in late September was released early Tuesday, security sources said.

They said Wissam al-Khatib was released near the city of Zahle, east Lebanon, at 3 a.m.
The Head of the pharmacists association, Rabih Hassoun, said Khatib was released unharmed.
“He is now with his family and is in good health,” he told reporters.
He would not give further details.
It was not immediately clear whether any ransom had been paid.
Khatib was opening his pharmacy in Karak al-Maallaqah, in the district of Zahle, when gunmen kidnapped him on Sept. 29.
A few days after his abduction, the family received a $500,000 ransom demand from the kidnappers.
Lebanon has been hit by a spate of kidnappings for ransom.
