BEIRUT – Britain’s ambassador to Lebanon on Sunday met with Future Movement leader MP Saad Hariri and reiterated London’s support for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon probing the 2005 assassination of the latter’s father, former Premier Rafiq Hariri.
“[I] informed [Saad Hariri] that [the] UK [is] supporting [the] Special Tribunal for Lebanon with [an] addition £1m,” Tom Fletcher wrote on his Twitter social networking page.
“Justice should not end at border,” he added.
The STL is set to start its blockbuster trial on January 16 of four Hezbollah members indicted in 2011 for Hariri’s assassination.
